What We Do

The Auxilia Initiative provides training to therapists in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and G-TEP (Group-Traumatic Episode Protocol).  After a crisis in the community, we connect community members with trained therapists who can facilitate interventions that can reduce the impact of recent trauma.  We also connect trained therapists with local first responders as they encounter challenging situations, and offer monthly G-TEP groups to allow for regular processing of the distressing events they frequently witness.

Our Vision

The Auxilia Initiative is meant to be a community-wide Prevention and Early Intervention program.  After a crisis happens, we hope that the helpers in our community think of us.  We aim to reduce the impact that traumatic events have on our community members and first responders, by providing intervention before problems arise.  We want our First Responders to be able to do their jobs with the support they need.
