TOURNAMENT RULES

  1. 7 inning games. 15-run mercy rule after 4 innings, 10-run mercy rule after 5 innings. 1 hour 15 minute time limit per game.
  2. Men may only use ASA approved bats. Women can swing anything.
  3. Legal pitch is one that is over the batters head. Males-unlimited arc. Females-maximum 15 feet.
  4. 3 balls 2 strikes, with a foul ball on the second strike resulting in an out.
  5. Non-collision rule: a player deliberately causing contact or a collision at any base will be called out. Ball becomes dead and play is stopped. A flagrant collision will result in ejection from the game.
  6. There are 2 lines painted on the third base line…the first is the commit line and the second is “home plate”. Once you cross the commit line, you must advance home. RUNNERS…DO NOT TOUCH HOME PLATE FOR ANY REASON! This includes home runs. Failure to comply will result in an out.
  7. Players must respect the outfield line when a female is up to bat. Outfielder must be behind this line and the infielder must be in front of this line until the ball is contacted.
  8. Leading off is permitted after the ball leaves the pitcher's hand. Runners must return to base after each pitch or they will be considered “in jeopardy”. If a runner leaves the bag early, they will be called out. On an overthrow, the runner does not have to retag the base before advancing.
  9. Base on Balls rule: If a male gets to base on 3 balls (intentional or not), the next female batter may walk also, unless they choose to bat. This can only be done once per inning and only once a game for that male batter.
  10. One courtesy runner per inning will be allowed. The runner must be of the same sex and must be the last out. (Exceptions can be made for an injured player…please contact league officials for these circumstances)
  11. Pitcher or catcher must be female. 5 & 5- Infield must be 2 men and 2 women. Outfield must be 2 men and 2 women. Any order.
  12. Minimum number of players to start the game is 4 men and 4 women. If you do not have at least 4/4, your team will forfeit.
  13. You may play either 5 & 5 or 6 & 4 (male/female).
  14. Batting lineup must be male/female/male/female or female/male/female/male etc. for 5 & 5. For 6 & 4, you cannot have 3 men batting in a row.
  15. NO ALCOHOL OR TOBACCO IN THE DUGOUTS!!!! Alcohol and smoking/vaping/smokeless tobacco must be outside of the dugout. Please also pick up any trash from your team in the dugout. We play on school property and need to keep it better than we find it.
  16. Players must be at least 15 years old to play. Anyone under the age of 18 MUST have a waiver signed by their parents before the start of the game…no exceptions! Without a waiver signed by PARENTS, the minor will not be allowed to play.
  17. No metal spikes. You must have cleats or athletic shoes to play. No other footwear of any kind will be allowed (slippers, crocs, sandals, etc).
  18. No bat throwing allowed. First time will be a warning. Second time will be an automatic ejection from the game.
  19. Umpires decisions are final. There will be a home ump and field ump for each game. Home ump has the final decision except for the outfield line, which will be called by the field ump.
  20. Rain or Shine- unless deemed too dangerous by league officials. If a game is canceled due to weather, it is up to the teams to reschedule the game. League officials must be notified as soon as the game is scheduled.

HAVE FUN, BE SAFE, AND PLAY BALL!!
