Get Involved
The Auxilia Initiative is volunteer-led, and a perfect example of community in action. We can't do what we do without a community of volunteers. From volunteer therapists who provide interventions, to first responders who provide referral information to community members after a crisis, there are a multitude of ways to take part. Find out how you can get involved by taking a closer look below!
Become a Volunteer Therapist
Do you have a Master's degree in counseling or a similar field? Are you trained in EMDR, or hoping to become trained in EMDR? Joining The Auxilia Initiative is a great way to gain training, add to the community's wealth of EMDR-trained therapists, and give back. Volunteer therapists can contribute in a variety of ways: facilitating or co-facilitating monthly G-TEP sessions for first responders, responding to requests for community G-TEP sessions following a crisis as your schedule allows, or providing psychoeducation and training to first responders or community members.

Become a Non-Therapist Volunteer
The Auxilia Initiative is a newly formed non-profit organization, and we have BIG goals for serving our community. There are a number of needs we have that could be filled by volunteers, particularly as we continue to grow. If you have a skill you would like to share with us, please reach out!

Co-facilitators for groups may be needed, and volunteers skilled with de-escalation and having experience in the mental health field are qualified to co-facilitate G-TEP sessions.

Become a First Responder Referral Network Member
First Responders are first to arrive to most crises. As such, first responders have the opportunity to connect with people during the most challenging times of their lives. The Auxilia Initiative extends an invitation to first responders to utilize that connection as a means to offer resources to those affected by these events. In the aftermath of trauma, we are here, ready to help.
If you or your department would like to discuss becoming part of our referral network, please email brittany@chequamegoncounseling.com
Become a Community Referral Network Member
Sometimes crisis strikes in the dark. We know that not all traumatic events are seen, reported, or treated. Churches, schools, community organizations, hospitals, and DV shelters are examples of the community referral network that can help our most vulnerable community members access our services. Consider joining The Auxilia Initiative's community referral network, and be a resource for those who experience recent traumatic events.
