Brittany Kuka
Brittany is a Licensed Professional Counselor, and owner of Chequamegon Counseling. Brittany works with children, teens, and adults with a particular focus on trauma. The Auxilia Initiative is a passion project, based on the desire to support First Responders and reduce the impact of traumatic events on the wider community.

Lyn Cornelius
Lyn is a licensed EMT and Service Director for Bayfield Community Ambulance Service. Lyn has been involved with local and county boards in the sustainability of emergency services in the area. Lyn believes that mental health is crucial for responders to continue their work. The Auxilia Initiative provides trained therapists that will help our responders deal with the stress of providing services in emergent situations in their communities.

Board Member-at-Large
Andy Mika
Andy is a Deputy Sheriff with the Bayfield County Sheriff’s Office, and his current assignment is the Courthouse Security Deputy. He is also part of the Bayfield County Treatment Court team and has training in peer support. Andy believes The Auxilia Initiative is crucial to our communities as our first responders and community members see and deal with many traumatic incidents. The initiative will offer a trained network of therapists that will be available to assist whenever the need arises.
Outreach Coordinator
Cara Croteau
Cara is an independent mental health and wellness provider with experience working in nonprofit settings. She received her Master of Social Work degree with a clinical focus in May 2024. She works with individuals and groups to foster independence and resilience through independent living skills, stress management, and coping skills. “The Auxilia Initiative’s mission and vision is one to get behind and support, because everyday our community’s first responders are there for us. Serving them and our community is an honor and privilege.”
